Uniontown, Ohio LIons Club Inducts Three New Members
Last night we held our first regular meeting of year. Our special Guests were Deputy District Governor Jeff Snyder and his wife Lion Carol Snyder. The Deputy District Governor was on hand to induct and introduce out three newest members to the Uniontown Lions Club. Our newest members are Duane Clark, Bill Katzenmeyer, and Doug Mckita. Lion John Birk was the sponsor of all three new members.
King Lion Bob was also allowed the privilege of making a special presentation to Lion Bud Bourn. Lion Bud was awarded the Golden Chevron for fifty years of service to the lions Club. Bourn first joined the lions on October 1st 1958. He was awarded a certificate of service and a letter of congratulations from Lions International President Albert F. Brandel.
During committee reports, Lion Bob Moffat gave the wrap up of the 2008 Christmas party which was a huge success and a great time was had by all. Lion Jon Thomas announced that the deate for the first swiss steak dinner would be February 27th. This first event will be dinner only since it has taken longer to secure the bingo license than initially planned.
Lion Wade Miller announced that there has been some changes in the annual spouses night. Since the Carousel Dinner Theater has closed we are planning on attending Lolly’s Dinner show instead. The proposed date will be February 21st and we will have more information and a sign up form after the next regular meeting.
